The sun’ll come out tomorrow

So you gotta hang on ’til tomorrow

Come what may

Tomorrow by Alicia Morton

The day has come! On Tuesday, December 8th 2020 for the very first time, our school held the virtual concert live on Zoom Meeting and Youtube media platform. As the previous article mentioned, this virtual concert was our first event during the pandemi time with the HOPE as the theme. With the hard work from all the teachers, parents, and of course the children, this event could be able to be shown and bring new hope to our new year.

The event was started with our Principal, Ms Thasya, who greeted all the children and family at home. Together then the children and teacher sang our school hymn . After that, our MC’s: Jaken, Audric, Jefferson, and Timothy from K2 shared the stories that followed the performance from each class. The first performance was from K1-2 with the ‘I See the Light’ to resemble that we do not have to be afraid of the darkness because there is always light as our hopes. As for the light, they performed with the small candle on the hand and sang the song together with the teachers.

After that, the second performance followed by K2-1 with ‘Let the Sun Shine in’ dance. In the middle of the dance some of the children and teachers put on sunglasses to resemble how bright the sun is like our future. Then, the N-2 class also showed up with their hope about tomorrow like the song that they performed. With white dresses and clothes, they show us how pure the children’s hopes about tomorrow are. The next performance was from Pre-Nursery class that showed up with percussion instruments. They play the ‘Better when I am Dancing’ song together with the teacher.

During the virtual concert in every interlude of the performance, the MCs show up with different stories about hope. Then, the N-1 class gave us a message and shared their bahasa Indonesia ability from the children about their hopes, such as to play in the playground, to have the virus gone so they could come to school, and continued with ‘Can’t Stop Feeling’ song. The concert then was followed by K2-2 children and the teachers who danced with smiles for the ‘Never Fully Dressed Without Smile’ song. They ended the dance with a smiley face picture on the screen.

The last performance was from K1-1 class with the song ‘Heal the World’ that showed us all our effort will make the world a better place for living. This performance then followed by the teacher’s sign language’s song, Rise Up, led by Ms Maria as a closure for our virtual concert.

Even though it was just a virtual concert, all the children with the teachers put their best effort and hard work, and also had fun during the practice and pre-recording activities. We also wish that everyone could keep healthy and happy during these days and find new hope in every single new day.

Happy holiday, happy new year! See you next term!
